Romulator for the Amiga A600

$80.00

The Kipper2k Romulator V1.01 for the Amiga A600

The Amiga 600 Romulator allows Amiga 600 owners to load a large number of Kickstart ROM image files onto a microSD card and select the desired version at boot up from a displayed menu. This Romulator functions identically to the Amiga 500 and 2000 Romulator.

For an excellent review of the Romulator watch the YouTube video, above, that was produced by Doug Compton as one of his 10 Minute Amiga Retro Cast episodes (episode 39). This video is an excellent introduction to the Romulator and provides installation instructions as well as details on how to use it.

Doug also created a shorter video that covers the Romulator installation in the Amiga 500 and 2000 and also covers the Amiga 600 version installation as well:

Please see below Dougs instruction video

Amiga On The Lake is very grateful for Doug dedicating an entire episode of 10 Minute Amiga Retro Cast to the Romulator which is sure to become one of the top viewed Amiga related videos on YouTube!

Thank you Doug!

We have included some images here for the Amiga 600 Romulator installation. Orient the A600 Romulator as indicated in image 1. The Romulator has the same pin count as the ROM socket so just line all the pins up with the socket and firmly insert it into the socket, image 2.

The female end of the wire jumper is installed over the keyboard reset pin on the Romulator. The other end of the wire jumper is installed as shown in image 3. It can be soldered onto the transistor leg, a more permanent and secure option, or attached with a small micro grabber clip which, while not as secure, is easier to accomplish.

    Romulator A600

This works on the Amiga 2000, but not when a card in placed in the co-processor port, like the Amiga 2500. Another person reported the same issue with another card also. No documentation was included and the manufactures website only works for the keyboards. So support is minimal.
